Actor Nick Cannon undergoes blood treatment amid ongoing battle with the autoimmune disease lupus

Nick Cannon, the multi-talented entertainer known for his roles as a TV host, rapper, and actor, recently shared a glimpse into his ongoing battle with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease.

Taking to Instagram, Cannon emphasized the importance of prioritizing health, captioning his post with a poignant reminder: "Health is the true wealth." He referred to himself as a "#lupuswarrior" in recognition of his ongoing struggle with the condition.

Lupus, as described by the Mayo Clinic, involves the body's immune system mistakenly attacking its own tissues and organs, leading to inflammation and affecting various bodily systems. Cannon disclosed his diagnosis publicly in 2012, recounting a frightening ordeal a decade earlier when he faced a sudden and life-threatening illness, initially unaware it was lupus.

Documenting his journey through videos, he revealed the challenges he encountered, including symptoms like swelling, pain, and difficulty breathing, which eventually led to diagnoses of kidney failure and blood clots in his lungs. Forced to reassess his priorities, Cannon temporarily stepped back from his busy career to focus on regaining his health
