The man suspected of spiking smoothies with drugs for his daughter's friends displayed unsettling fascination with a coworker's daughter.

The individual hailing from Oregon, USA, accused of administering drug-laced mango smoothies to his daughter's friends, exhibited an unsettling fascination with the offspring of his colleagues, as disclosed in a recent report.

During his tenure as a Human Resources director at Avangrid, Michael Meyden garnered a reputation for his amiable demeanor, yet one former coworker now casts doubt upon his intentions.

"He was always curious about our families," shared a colleague who interacted with him until 2021. "He'd inquire about my kids, their ages, interests, and then share details about his own. It seemed harmless at the time."

This interest extended beyond office confines, with Meyden engaging with his coworker's daughter's cheerleading photos on social media and retaining personal information about her. Initially perceived as friendly gestures, these interactions now appear under a new lens.

Meyden, aged 57, now faces serious charges stemming from an incident during a sleepover at his $1.2 million residence in Lake Oswego, Oregon, on August 26 last year.

Allegedly, Meyden served three of his daughter's 12-year-old companions mango smoothies spiked with benzodiazepine, inducing a deep slumber in two of them, while a third desperately sought help.

The ensuing chaos saw parents rushing to the scene in the early hours of the morning, and the following day, the affected girls required hospitalization, unable to recall the events of the prior night.

Investigations by the Lake Oswego Police Department implicated Meyden in administering the substances to the girls, resulting in felony charges.

Amidst this turmoil, Meyden's marital relationship dissolved shortly after the incident, with him now residing in seclusion in Vancouver, Washington, devoid of contact with his children.

Accusations surfaced of Meyden conducting disturbing "tests" on the girls during the ill-fated sleepover, further fracturing trust within the family and eliciting condemnation from his former relatives.

As Meyden braces for the impending legal proceedings, the specter of his actions continues to cast a long shadow over his future.
