50 Cent takes legal action against former partner Daphne Joy for defamation following her public accusations of rape and physical abuse amidst Diddy's 'sex worker' lawsuit.
50 Cent has initiated legal action against his former partner, Daphne Joy, for defamation following her accusations of physical abuse and rape.
The rapper alleges that Joy's claims were made to gain sole custody of their 11-year-old son, Sire, and were in retaliation to his own custody efforts after her involvement in a lawsuit against Diddy.
According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, 50 Cent asserts that Joy's allegations have harmed his reputation and custody proceedings. His legal team stated that Joy's actions have negatively impacted their son's relationship with his father.
This legal dispute arises amidst other legal battles involving shocking allegations against Diddy, where Joy was implicated.
Joy refuted claims of being a sex worker, labeling it as character assassination, and in turn, accused 50 Cent of rape and neglecting his paternal duties.
Despite demands for a retraction, Joy refused, prompting 50 Cent to pursue damages exceeding $1 million for defamation and seeks a court order to remove Joy's post and prevent further defamatory remarks.
The couple, who dated from 2011 to 2012, separated shortly after the birth of their son.
