Noelia Voigt, current Miss USA, emphasizes mental health prioritization amidst her crown resignation.
Noelia Voigt, the reigning Miss United States of America (USA), has stepped down from her title, citing concerns for her mental health.
Voigt, who clinched the crown in September 2023, emphasized the importance of prioritizing one's well-being in a statement on Instagram. "Never compromise your physical and mental wellbeing," she urged her followers, adding, "Our health is our wealth."
The 24-year-old Venezuelan-American, hailing from Utah, expressed her desire to continue inspiring others while embarking on a new chapter in her life. "Prioritize your mental health, advocate for yourself and others, and embrace the uncertainties of the future," Voigt advised.
Grateful for her nine-month tenure as Miss USA, Voigt acknowledged the platform it provided her to effect positive change and fulfill a lifelong dream. She also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect with people worldwide.
The Miss USA organization, acknowledging Voigt's decision, affirmed its commitment to the well-being of its titleholders. Plans for the transition to a successor are currently under review.
